Warforged #13 was created to fill the ranks after Warforged #7 perished. He was deployed in multiple covert operations in the five nations during the War. Five was the longest surviving member of the unit, the de facto leader.
990 YK (8 years ago)
Twelve was created. Claiming to hear the Voice of the Silver Flame, she spoke of the need to protect the weak and root out evil. Thirteen and her got along well. During a high-stakes mission behind enemy frontlines, the unit was able to secure a magical bomb set to destroy a Brelish garrison. The press somehow got wind of this and the unnamed heroes were celebrated across the country.

The Hornets ran into an ambush. They lost Six, Fourteen and Twelve that day.
20 Olarune, 994 YK (4ish years ago)
The Mourning.
995 YK (2 years ago)
As the liberation of Warforged through the treaty was in sight, Brelish mages altered the memories of the special unit and removed the memory or details of highly sensitive missions. After the treaty of Thronehold was passed, the unit consisting of Five, Eight, Ten, Thirteen, Fiveteen and Seventeen was dissolved. It drew Thirteen and other warforged from the unit to Sharn. With sudden freedom and a lack of purpose, he was floating but settled in as a bouncer/additional hand for an inn run by a Shifter family. He soon became a part of the inn family. He was regularly meeting in a fighting club with Eight and Fiveteen and doing odd jobs for House Tharashk. After some time, Eight kept mentioning details of their missions that neither Thirteen nor Fiveteen could remember. After a week, Eight completely disappeared. Five sought out Thirteen, explained the memory removal, how Eight was regaining memories and that the King’s Dark Lanterns are behind Eight’s disappearance. He recommended that Thirteen and Fiveteen leave Breland behind. Thirteen went to Flamekeep, to lose his tails and in memory of Twelve, wanting to see the Flame she spoke of so often for himself.

Sypheros 997 YK – 3 months ago
The success of the oddballs ground the gears of certain people in the Watch. They were assigned cold case about missing Shifters, which was deemed unsolvable. After painstaking investigation, Thirteen and Vesryn witnessed a Templar Knight conducting anti-lycanthrope experiments on Shifters. Thirteen and Vesryin alerted the higher ups, but the lack of hard evidence meant a drawn out investigation. They took matters into their own hand.

Being let go by the Guard, and getting a taste of operating on his own terms, Thirteen turned vigilante and administers his own justice to the Flamekeep underworld. Soon the vigilante becomes a sensation in the broadsheets. A journalist exposes and blackmails him. Not wanting to draw attention to himself, with an antagonistic city watch and the King’s Lanterns still looking for him, Thirteen needs to come up with 200 gold pieces. Soon.
Thirteen has not regained his memories, as Eight did, but who knows what happens as he grows in abilities…
Personality
- Bond: Thirteen was created as a part of a squad and spent seven years, the vast majority of his life, living in a tight unit. His allies are his family, and he would give his life to protect them, and break as many necks as necessary to keep them safe.
- Still, no matter how much blood, sweat and mechanical tears he sacrificed, he couldn’t keep his squadmates safe from the dangers of the Last War violence, and post-war intrigue. He was forced away from the Shifter inn family, and was brutally disappointed by the Watch. Thirteen is created for a tight-knit community but life has left scars. What will happen as he joins another group?
- Morality: Being created to obey orders, and to kill, Thirteen’s “morality” is heavily influenced by the people around him.
- Uneducated: Thirteen is a tool created for a purpose. While he has street-smarts and can smell trouble from a mile away, he is painfully naive in matters of the broader world.
- Young: While he has seen more action, than anyone could hope for, Thirteen still is a mere nine years old.
- Awkward: Between his short life span, low education and Warforged disposition, Thirteen tends to be clumsy in social matters.
- Smoker: Smoking is a habit the whole squad picked up from their commanding suit. Yes, there is no physical effect on Warforged.
- Motivation
- Short term: Thirteen needs 200 gold pieces to pay the blackmail
- Medium term: Thirteen wants to keep an eye on / bring to justice the lycantrophic purge tendencies of the Silver Flame
- Long term: Thirteen yearns for belonging, for a new squad and family. He is also created for war and feels most alive when meeting a worthy foe. Shaping himself into an ever more deadlier weapon is ingrained in his character.
