Current Threads
- Prepare for the Journey to The Mournland
Storyline / Scenes
- Morning
- Release of Took & Thirteen
- Any other follow-up?
- Meeting with Kael & Borak’Han
- Nudging Departure: Both Kael and Borak’Han strongly emphasize the need for swift action now that the enemy is aware and active. “We cannot afford further delays. You must depart for the Mournland soon. What final preparations do you need?”
- Investigate Toriman’s sword
- During the Kael meeting is the prime time to act on it. If Toriman explains the vision (linking it to the previous one), Kael (being loyal and taking spiritual matters seriously) should be intrigued. He might say, “A specific vision… and tied to your spirit’s memories? Interesting. While our vaults hold many relics, some poorly understood… Describe this sigil again.” He might agree to check records or grant Toriman (perhaps with a trusted priest or the new Dwarf Fighter escorting) access to the specified reliquary area after the main meeting concludes. This gives Toriman a clear path to his goal within this session or the next.
- Meeting with Silas d’Cannith

Recap from previous Session
When last we left our heroes, the quiet streets of Flamekeep had erupted into a desperate chase! One fleeing shadow darted through alleys and over rooftops, hampered by Sarodan’s magic but managing to pull down obstacles in their wake. The second, however, found their flight cut short, paralyzed by Toriman’s holy power near the window from which they’d leapt. Justice, or at least capture, seemed imminent.
Yet the agents of the Whispering Flame proved fanatically devoted. As Sarodan, Hasted and shifted, finally cornered the first quarry after a breathless pursuit through crates and over walls, the agent uttered a final, desperate word. Amulet clutched, they erupted in searing black flames, sacrificing themselves to deny capture, catching both #13 and a responding City Guard in the blast, though thankfully both survived the inferno. Only ashes and scorched gear remained.
Meanwhile, back near the inn, the second agent, though freed from paralysis, found no escape. Restrained by Elrath’s grasping tattoo and Toriman’s fierce grip, their own attempt to trigger a hidden device was thwarted. Seeing no other way out, in a final, shocking act of defiance, the agent smashed their own head against Took’s readied crysteel dagger, choosing death over capture. A search revealed only a small stone pendant bearing a strange rune, radiating faint evocation magic – perhaps the trigger they failed to use?
The sudden violence drew the City Guard in force. Despite Toriman invoking the Church’s authority, the guards, faced with two dead bodies and a chaotic scene, took Took and the ever-loyal Elrath (who refused to leave him) into custody pending word from the Cathedral. Sarodan shadowed them discreetly, while the others (#13 nursing his wounds, Davira documenting furiously, Toriman wrestling with the brutal necessity of the fight) eventually regrouped, shaken by the agents’ deadly commitment.
Through the long night that followed, Toriman found no peace in a tavern’s solace, haunted instead by visions – memories of an ancient warrior wielding a blade of eerie light, a blade his spirit now showed him resting deep within the Cathedral vaults, beneath a seven-pointed star. A legacy, a purpose, resonated within him. Elsewhere, Took found himself inexplicably holding an old manacle in his cell, while Elrath spoke of darker woods than these stone walls…
(Transition back) “Now, morning approaches. Took and Elrath await word in a guard cell. Toriman carries the weight of a new vision. And your meeting with Archon Kael and Borak’Han looms… What happens now?”
