Storyline / Scenes
- Start: Recap briefly. Resolve #13’s inn crawl (delivering rumours). Resolve library research (no new info). Party discussion on next steps/travel plan.
- Introduce Silas: Have him approach the party (Option A seems effective) offering maps/gear related to Making. Roleplay his careful information control.
- Meeting: Have Kael summon them (perhaps with Borak’Han already present). Run the meeting focusing on urgency and resource offers. Let the party react and ask questions.
- Chase (Optional): If the energy dips or you want to inject paranoia, trigger the WF Watcher encounter as they leave the meeting or are walking through Flamekeep later.
- End: The party should have offers of help (Church & Cannith), a clearer (if potentially manipulated) destination (Making via Vathirond), possibly some new gear/maps, and a sense of urgency, perhaps coupled with unease about being watched. They should be close to deciding to depart.
Secrets & Clues (Things the party should know…)
- Kael: “The sooner the final shard is secured, the safer the Flame will be from the whispers of the Shadow. We must act swiftly. The Church offers its full support – what do you require?” (Pious urgency).
- Borak’Han: “The vision was clear – the whispers seek it. Delay only aids them. My people know little of the interior Mournland, but the energies feel… turbulent. Proceed with wisdom and strength.” (Spiritual warning).
- They react genuinely if the party voices suspicion based on Theron’s (WF-planted) warning.

Good morning, brave heroes! Now listen right here! Let’s recap last session and make it all clear! Young Took woke from slumber, looked down at his hand, A ring black and silver, just as Lira planned! “Keep it secret!” she’d whispered, in dreams the night past, A ring full of shadows, meant to move Took quite fast!
Then Sarodan shared words that caused heads to bend low, From Theron who warned them, “There are dark seeds that grow! A Whispering Flame, in the Church takes its hold! Don’t trust everyone! Not all that glitters is gold! Who can be trusted?, the party felt doubt, Was their noble shard-quest what this ‘Flame’ was about?
To the Mournland they’d journey! They looked at the maps, Avoiding the pitfalls, and Grey-Misted traps! First Rail-ride to Vathirond, then onward they’d roam, Past the Chasm, to the Plateau, far from home! But Sarodan squinted! “Hey Took, what is THAT?” He pointed right at the new ring where it sat! Took stammered and stuttered, “My Mage Hand, it steals!” But Sarodan sensed that wasn’t how Took truly feels!
Then Toriman spoke up, his voice rough with pain, Of Shifters all stolen, again and again! His friends disappeared back in Aruldusk town, When Church folk visited, knocking doors down! He held up a pendant, its symbol notorious… Lira’s cracked flame! Oh, things just got laborious! His own private vengeance, now tangled and twined, With the quest for the shards, and the foes they must find!
So Davira and Sarodan, to the library flew, For answers in books, both the old and the new! Found “Relics Lost,” hinting the Heart met foul fate, And odd “Shadow-Creep” notes, filled with rumour and weight! Hints of Church trouble, and shadows that play, Adding layers of worry to the light of the day!
Now research is finished, but questions remain, About inns and some weapons, again and again! Flamekeep still holds you, there’s prep to be done, Before into the Mournland, you finally run! So gather your thoughts, check your gear and your packs, The journey awaits… no time to relax!
