Mid-Floors: The Administrative Archives

  • Atmosphere: These floors are a scene of quiet desolation—dusty, ruined offices filled with filing cabinets of mundane records.

  • Discovery: A successful Intelligence (Investigation) check amidst the papers reveals a key piece of validating lore: official requisition orders for massive quantities of Khyber dragonshards and rare metals being shipped to a facility codenamed “Sub-Level Gamma,” which the party now knows was the underground forge complex. This is a small but satisfying confirmation of their findings.

Top Floor: The Baron’s Office (The Main Reward)

  • Atmosphere: This was the opulent office of the facility’s leader. It has been thoroughly ransacked by the Lord of Blades’ forces, but the most valuable secrets are secured behind magical or mechanical locks they couldn’t bypass.

  • Discoveries:

    1. The Evidence (Datascribe): On the main desk is a sophisticated terminal. When Davira slots the Aegis Shard into it, they can finally access the encrypted data. They will see the unredacted logs detailing “Project Radiance” and confirming House Cannith’s direct culpability in the events leading to the Mourning.

    2. #13’s Past (The Safe): A magically sealed safe contains top-secret personnel files. One is labeled “Project Chimera,” detailing #13’s old squad. He’ll find his own file, #12’s, and the others, confirming their role as an elite, experimental unit. This is also where he finds the technical specifications that allow him to unlock his Adamantine Overclock feature.

    3. The Grand Prize (The Ledger): A massive, locked ledger contains what the Lord of Blades was searching for: a master list of Cannith’s most secret facilities, including the locations of two other dormant Creation Forges.

    4. The Prototypes (The Display Case): A shattered display case holds the Baron’s prized prototypes. Here, Elrath will find her new handaxe, Axe-iety Relief, and Sarodan will find the Spellweaver's Opal.

The Rooftop: The Communications Spire

  • Atmosphere: The rooftop is exposed to the gray, oppressive sky of the Mournland. In the center is the ruin of a large teleportation circle.

  • Discoveries:

    1. The Ruined Circle: A successful Intelligence (Arcana) check reveals the teleportation circle was deliberately and violently overloaded from the other side on the Day of Mourning. It is irreparable.

    2. The Consolation Prize: While the circle is broken, a few of the large, secondary focusing crystals are cracked but intact. A skilled character can carefully salvage them. These crystals are not powerful enough to fix the circle, but hold enough residual power to be used as the primary material component for one or two Teleport scrolls, or perhaps a one-time-use escape device that will become crucial later in the campaign.
