Tactics
- The Soldiers are intelligent. The two with crossbows will immediately take cover behind rubble and target spellcasters or anyone trying to fly.
- The Blade-Bearer and the 3 melee Soldiers will form a defensive line, protecting the Tower entrance, trying to intercept anyone who makes a run for it.
- The Blade-Bearer will use his multi-attack and direct his soldiers, shouting commands like “Hold the line! For the Lord of Blades!” or “Take down the mage!”
Environment
The plaza is wide open in parts, but the shattered statue base and large chunks of rubble provide half-cover. The Animated Armor create moving hazards that can disrupt positioning for both sides. Making - Combat Battlemap Layouts
Avoiding Combat
While difficult, players could attempt it. It might involve a large-scale illusion to distract the entire squad, exceptional group stealth checks, or creating a major diversion elsewhere in the city to draw the main force away, leaving only a couple of guards behind.
