This wraps appears as a set of supple, dark leather strips backed with fine silk. The surface of the leather is intricately etched with silvery, arcane circuits that seem to shift and flow when not observed directly. A small, flat Siberys dragonshard fragment is stitched into the main wrap where it would lie against the back of the wielder’s hand.

This was a prototype developed for elite Cannith battlemages, designed to create a perfect resonance between physical strikes and arcane force, turning a warrior’s precise focus into a tangible magical weapon.

These wraps are designed to be wound around the hilt and guard of a single one-handed melee weapon, which becomes the focus of this item’s magic. The process of binding the wraps to a weapon takes 10 minutes.

Arcane Stagger. While you are attuned to these wraps and wielding the weapon they are bound to, you can channel their power. When you use your Bladesinger’s Extra Attack feature to cast a wizard cantrip, if you also hit a creature with an attack from the bound weapon during that same action, you can create a psychic dissonance in the target’s mind. The creature you hit suffers disadvantage on the next Intelligence and Wisdom saving throws before the start of your next turn.

You can use this property a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Possible Locations

Option 1: The Fallen Zealot (Layer 1 - The Plaza)

This option makes the item a direct reward for overcoming the main combat challenge on the surface.

  • Location: On the body of the Warforged Blade-Bearer after the party defeats the Lord of Blades’ zealots in the Plaza of Artifice.
  • Discovery: When searching the leader’s body (along with the Cannith Artificer’s Signet Ring needed for the lift), they find these strange, masterwork leather wraps. The Blade-Bearer may have taken them from a fallen Cannith battlemage previously, prizing them as a unique weapon enhancement without fully understanding their arcane potential.
  • Why it works: It provides an immediate, tangible reward for a tough fight. It also adds a layer to the Lord of Blades’ followers – they aren’t just zealots; they are connoisseurs of advanced, esoteric weaponry.

Option 2: The Secret Stash (Layer 1 - The Assembly Yard)

This option rewards cleverness and puzzle-solving.

  • Location: Inside Scouts’ hidden workshop in the Assembly Yard, where the party finds the schematics for the Research Vent.
  • Discovery: Tucked away in a locked case (DC 15 Dexterity (Thieves’ Tools) check to open) under Scouts’ workbench, the party finds the Synchronicity Wraps. Scouts, being a clever scout and tinkerer, may have found them elsewhere in Making and was studying them, but didn’t have the chance to attune or use them before he had to flee.
  • Why it works: It makes the puzzle-focused route even more rewarding, ensuring the party gets both a key clue (the schematics) and a unique treasure from that location.

Option 3: The Battlemage’s Last Stand (Layer 2 - The Sunken Maintenance Hub)

This is my personal recommendation as it spreads the loot out and enhances the storytelling of Layer 2.

  • Location: In the control room of the Sunken Maintenance Hub, where the party goes to get the “Cannith Security Override Datapad.”
  • Discovery: Slumped over the control panel where they generate the datapad are the skeletal remains of a high-ranking Cannith officer clad in the remnants of an ornate uniform. A successful DC 12 Intelligence (Investigation) check reveals that one of the skeleton’s hands is tightly gripping a leather satchel. Inside is a datapad and the pristine Synchronicity Wraps.
  • The Story: The datapad contains the officer’s final log: “The Aegis containment is failing… I tried to initiate a manual override from here, but the system is unresponsive. I am a battlemage of House Cannith, trained to weave sword and spell… but no training prepared me for this… I can hear it coming through the walls…”
  • Why it works: This is the most thematically rich option. It places the item in a logical location (a secure Cannith hub), connects it directly to a person who would have used it (a battlemage), and provides a poignant piece of environmental storytelling. It also gives Sarodan his new item right before the Slaad fight and the final push into Layer 3, allowing him to use it in the climactic battles of the weekend.
